Nordkjosbotn
Travelling north from Nordkjosbotn, very shortly after leaving town, there is an icefall visible from the road. This is called Piggsteinfossen (not as someone renamed it Startfossen), 60m, WI4.
"Startfossen" was a "name" given to this prominent waterfall by two fairly ignorant Austrians a couple of years ago. Locally it has been known as Piggsteinfossen for several decades.

ReplyDeleteThanks Stein, I will correct it - no offence intended. I bet this happens a lot with us assuming and brash visitors.
